2. Describe your show Twitter style, 140 characters or less.
Always different.
Absurd comedy.
3. A quote/moment that stands out from your show?
Amuse-Bouche is all about getting to meet awesome people and gets tastes of their show from every genre at the festival.
So the stand-out moments are going to be different every night – which should be awesome.
Fät Wânk is a bizarre adventure of a comedy show.
A particular highlight for me is when the lead character, a silent clown, is coerced into taking drugs, then finds himself floating through space and meeting a David Bowie-esque demi-god of the galaxy that promises to reveal the ‘…secrets of the universe.’
Sound wanky yet?
4. Is heckling allowed?
Amuse-Bouche has some audience interaction opportunities.
If they participate in the games, they get a chance to win tickets to our guests’ shows.
We hope to send our guests onto their next Fringe Advenutre.
Fät Wânk is a play, so it would be awfully distracting if someone was to heckle…
But the show does have moments of chaos and silliness so you couldn’t be blamed for thinking it was all part of the show.
5. What is your role in the show?
In Amuse-Bouche, I’m the deep-voiced guy who announces the guests and our host, Pires Eddy, and I also help out with the gameshow elements along the way.
I’m also on hand to chime in with hilarious witticisms.
I play the silent clown in Fät Wânk.
Which hasn’t been a tough role as far as line learning goes but its been a challenge to develop the physical component while trying not to laugh during my hilarious cast’s moments of improvisation.
6. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to keep being a producer and performer.
It would be great to tour shows to interstate and international festivals.
I also want to be a fireman but apparently you have to have perfect eye-sight and I wear glasses.
7. If you could put on (or be in) any show/band in the world, which one would it be?
I would love to put a show on at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Its an insane festival that can swallow you up but if you found an audience, it would be amazing.
8. Biggest accolade/compliment you’ve received about your show?
These are both new shows but our previous version of our talk-show was in the TalkFringe top-ten in 2011 and the last play we produced, Open Mic, was given 4 stars by Adelaide Theatre Guide.
Mostly I just appreciate the general audience having a great time.
9. Why would someone not come to see your show?
Amuse-Bouche is designed for the audience member who wants variety and who wants to see some of the best acts at the Fringe.
If they had no interest in getting a taste of the festival, then Amuse-Bouche is not for them.
Fät Wânk requires an audience member to take a chance on something new and different.
If someone is interested in something safer, then this isn’t for them but I’m pretty sure I can guarantee them plenty of laughs if they took a shot.
10. Besides your show, what’s your pick for the Fringe?
Very keen to see the physical comedy, Truth, by SlowClap who produced The Hermitude of Angus, Ecstatic last Fringe.
Apart from that, I’ll be getting along to as many shows as I can.
