The Amazing Drumming Monkeys [Australia]

1. Describe your music Twitter style, 140 characters or less.
We play the monkey drums, and sing happy songs with lovely messages. We interact with the audience, and the whole family can dance around and go bananas.
2. First album you purchased?
Master Blaster – Stevie Wonder (7 inch)
3. First gig you went to?
Midnight Oil and Johnny Kannas? Explosion? at Orana Park (Now Campbelltown Football Stadium – Sydney)
4. Favourite song?
Cedar Bee went Walking – about my little 1 and a half year old – Cedar, by my partner singer songwriter Loren Kate (who every one should check out)
5. A compelling reason to come see your gig?
Well, it’s really nice to have a show that entertains a 1 year old and a 100 year old at the same time… And It’s our 9th WOMAD in a row, so I guess we are the most enduring musical act at the festival.

7. Your single biggest musical influence?
Animal from The Muppets
8. If you weren’t a musician, what would you be?

9. If you could collaborate with any artist in the world, who would it be?
Sekou Keita.
10. Who are you looking forward to seeing at WOMAD?
Grace Barbe – awesome band, and I’m originally from Mauritius, and love the creole sound with the reggae.
