Livin’ The Sweet Life – DeAnne Smith
Life’s great when you’re rich(er than most people on the planet). Not only does DeAnne pay strangers to remove her body hair, she also has a guy drive her around town in a large, expensive vehicle. (Okay, it’s a bus.) But still, this 2011 Barry Award Nominee’s doing waaaay better than 1.7 billion people in poverty. This is a show about how sweet life is, and could be. (Also includes ukulele tunes and free candy.)

1. Describe your show Twitter style, 140 characters or less!
Jokes. Ukulele. Slightly dirty; slightly nerdy. Super fun. Free candy!
2. Since you’re a comedian, is there a lot of pressure to be funny on a first date?
I love how you assume I go on first dates.
3. Speaking of, what’s your ideal date activity?
Dumpster diving and/or thrift shopping. This might be why I don’t get more first dates.
4. A movie that made you cry?
The last one was The Descendants. But I cry at everything.
5. What do you do when you get sad?
Stuff my feelings deep inside, then cry disproportionately at movies. That’s healthy, right?
6. When and/or why did you decide to become a comedian?
When? After I did my first open mic in 2006.
Why? Insatiable need for attention.
7. Favourite comedian?
Maria Bamford. She’s so funny it makes my brain hurt.
8. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Old. I picture myself puttering around a garden and complaining about my knees.
9. Funniest YouTube clip you’ve seen?
Watch past the first minute. You’ll be rewarded. And terrified.
