ONLY on Girls Night would you find yourself cackling over waxing salons, swinging babies, ukulele and Cindy Lauper. With Cath Styles hosting the all-lady event over the Comedy Festival season, this is a show that not only compliments your evening, but also asks you life questions: Kids vs the iPhone.
Tonight’s tasting plate gave us DeAnne Smith (last years’ Barry award nominee), Nikki Britten and Geraldine Hickey with a side of Precious Gift Burlesque entertaining the mostly female crowd with solid and charming performances that mixed shock and horror with laughter and awe.
Each naughty comedian swooned the crowd in the intimate setting with their own flavour of funny, with an assortment of musical numbers, dancing, stripping, re-enactments and straight up jokes. For an hour show made for the women, this had both sexes flustered for more.
Verdict: Leave the kids at home, but this Girls Night invites both sexes for a good night out.
