Luke Heggie – Master of None
Luke Heggie has had a lot of jobs; most of them bad. He’s never stuck at any of them long enough to get promoted. Go and see his debut solo show. It’s funny. No dickheads please.
AS a former Raw Comedy champ, I was keen to see something a bit removed from what I’ve come to expect from other emerging comics. Heggie has an air of weirdness about him: he talks like he’s missing a few screws and then surprises the audience with his unusual intelligence. He also plays mandolin and sings in fluent French!
Heggie strolls around his long work history, from transcribing police interviews with murder suspects to working as a runner for a television production company. He’s managed to fit a lifetime of experience into his years and there is plenty of fodder for laughs. This show proved to be a hidden gem among the hordes of new comics at this years comedy festival, so catch him while his shows are still small and cheap, or just so you can brag to your friends that you’ve known about him for ages.
