Lindi Jane – Chicken Pox!

LINDI Jane and her troop of peculiar puppet friends make for a superb evening of entertainment at Wonderland Fun Park on the Docklands. In keeping with the best of children entertainment, the show is a jam-packed mix of laughs and educational material as Snap’s Kakadu Club teach their young audience right from wrong.

A brilliant ventriloquist, Lindi brings her characters to life from the get-go, introducing the kids to Snap’s Kakadu Club and engaging the audience with main character Snap, who is a perky, friendly and charming little guy as well as a clear crowd favourite.

The Chicken Pox! story is cleverly written and backed up with cameos from Snap’s friends Fluffi, an obnoxious but repentant cat, Sniffer, a cool-to-the-bone puppy, and Dazey, whose humour seems aimed at the older audience members, but misses the mark and seems a little awkward, not that the kids notice.

Lindi and Snap’s biggest challenge is not chicken pox, but the fact their show is based in a Fun Park, as the kids in the audience had already spend their afternoon flat-out on all of the rides. The energy levels of the audience kept dropping right throughout the show, only to be rescued time and time again by Bonza Mate, a 7 foot tall silent dog who re-energised the crowd with every kid’s favourite, the Chicken Dance.

Chicken Pox! and Wonderland Fun Park is a great way to spend an evening with the kids and heckler guarantees they won’t make it home before falling asleep.
