AN extremely talented impersonator, Anil Desai’s routine is a must see for movie buffs and celebrity lovers alike. At every opportunity Desai involves the audience, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. From Daffy Duck to Jack Nicholson, his impressions of the cultural icons we grew up with are for lack of a better word, impressive, in fact, he does a better Robert De Niro than the man himself.

Desai addresses hecklers in the audience with confidence and humour, the nastier the comments, the better he forked out comebacks. Obviously this show indulges in celebrity worship and popular culture – simultaneously adoring and mocking it in the way we all do ourselves. All in all it’s a well-rehearsed act that has obviously taken years of practice… you can almost see Desai in front of the mirror, pulling his tricks and having a sneaky laugh about it himself.
