Review – Sensorial
Sensorial is where music and visual art are as one. Violinist Niki Vasilakis presents an original composition against a background animation, showing her music’s influence over the production of a painting by artist Claire Foord. I have no clue about the violin and I don’t need one, it is safe to say Vasilakis is stunning. Her performance instantly captured my heart and imagination, as I found myself drawn into her world of soaring highs and sorrowful lows.
While the animation was a beautiful touch, I can’t help feeling that this show would have been even more spectacular if paint was meeting canvass live. It is also worth trying to get to a show in the cosy new space “The Alley”. Adorned with street art and lantern bearing hills hoists, it is a perfect new Fringe space.
Pro tip for other artists: including a drink in the ticket price is always a winner.
