Let the Songeliers serenade you with their three-part vocal harmonies and regale you with tales of love, friendship and wine over wine tastings at the Rundle Street Universal Wine bar.
There is an obvious chemistry and bond between the three friends, a shared history and passion for music and obviously wine. It’s a very intimate evening, with the girls laying bare their own personal stories of life and philosophies on love. In this treat-filled evening, these musical women pair songs about wines with the tastings of five spectacular wines. The songs are well-chosen, and the show flows well between different moods of songs and stories and into the nitty-gritty of the enjoyable wine tastings.
There’s no need to be a wine expert to enjoy this show, the wines are explained and the questions that are asked, anyone can put a creative spin on. Not only can they hold their own in vocal harmonies but the Songeliers are fantastic musicians, with particularly sensitive accompaniment from pianist Katrina Kirkwood. There is a great ear for self-balancing the levels of voice, instrument, room size and audience size displayed by the trio. The overall image is exactly what the word cabaret draws to mind, candles in empty wine bottles, sounds of piano accordion, violin and piano and classic cabaret apparel clad women with strong voices.
