Put on your robe and wizard hat, because the brothers from Shaolin Punk have come to the Fringe to weave some improvisational comedy magic.
Join them as they assemble a party of brave adventurers (played by a lively bunch of touring comedians, hand-plucked from the Gluttony green-room) to light-heartedly delve into the darkest depths of one of the world’s most misunderstood past times. Dungeon Crawl is an on-stage adaptation of a game of Dungeons and Dragons, the players improvise out an adventure, aptly arbitrated by co-Dungeon Masters Ben and Richard McKenzie and their trusty enchanted icosahedron: ‘the nerdiest dice of them all’.
Good improv always requires a pretty high profession actor check. So it wasn’t surprising that not all of the gags landed, but some high charisma scores and lucky dice rolls ensured the audience failed their will save versus hilarity, taking maximum comedy damage. The players didn’t even need to cast charm person!
Knowing your ACs from your DCs will certainly help you get more out of the show, but there’s enough D&D references throughout pop-culture to ensure even the totally uninitiated have a good time in Dungeon Crawl.
Bring your +1 mace, an open mind and enough Mountian Dew and you will be treated to a dice-rollicking good time.
