Womad – Soweto Gospel Choir
They certainly celebrate god a little differently in South Africa. With rapturous flailing limbs, outrageously technicolour outfits and joyous musical outpourings, the Soweto Gospel Choir are quite an experience.
Under the direction of Beverly Bryer, the group draws on the best talent from churches around Soweto, and they brought a fine collection of performers over for their Womadelaide spectacle.
Started off a little flat but gained pace as the show progressed, they had the whole audience worshiping along by the end.
