When any red-blooded woman thinks of Christain Louboutin they think shoes. Stilettos, sexy, smoking-hot shoes. When any red-blooded man thinks of the Crazy Horse they think well, they stop thinking.
Feu (fire) by Christian Louboutin represents the first collaboration between sultry Parisian night spot, the Crazy Horse and a “Guest Creator” (Louboutin).
This film is essentially a set of stunningly choreographed burlesque dance sequences punctuated by narration from Louboutin and the girls about what they feel, their inspiration and creative processes. Notably, the show features choreography to both the music of David Lynch and cheekily a French cover of Britney Spear’s ‘Toxic’.
While, sadly, I did not get the benefit of 3D I can see how this technology would have showcased the performances and these immaculate creatures amazingly. They present their art with an understated seductive sexuality that is in stark contrast to, well, almost anything else that involves women flaunting their feminine figure (yes I’m thinking vulgar rap videos).
If you are a fan of the female form, particularly from the knee down, placed on a pedestal of platforms then this set of dance sequences will be something for you to see. Also if you are interested in peeking inside the creative mind of one of France’s leading designers, you will be delighted. However, if either of these things are not for you, then pick another fine French film.
So if you fall into those first two categories on 5th April there is a Cabaret Night Special Event with a screening at Palace Cinemas and an after party at La Boheme.
Note: One disappointment is that the film has been dubbed.
