Space is infinite, and so is Watson’s capacity for space gags and giggles. Watson consists of comedy duo Tegan Higginbotham & Adam McKenzie, accompanied in this performance by an agile crew of puppeteers, a handful of aliens and more props than you can poke a prop at. They come together in this magnificent air-borne melodrama to take you on a space mission to Pluto, all the time wondering why it’s been over 8 years since they last received a call from earth…
Once were planets delivers a constellation of references to every space-themed film and TV show you’ve ever seen, giving your Gen Y pop culture knowledge a solid work out. The show is visually spectacular as it is hilarious; Watson’s brand of fluorescent, muppetesque black-lit space is complete with floating heads and talking computers. It is everything space could and should be.
The on-stage charisma of this comedy duo is really a joy to behold. They bounce off each other’s improvisations and comic blunders through the fourth wall superbly.
This show will rock your space socks. It’s going to sell out so get your ticket for this rocket-fuelled evening of comedy joy before it’s too late. In space, no one can hear you whine about missing it.
