10 Quick Qs – Hans
You know what they say, Germans know their way around a spiegeltent. We managed to track one down – the amiable Hans – and we asked him the tough questions.
1. Describe your show Twitter-style, 140 character or less!
Hot-pants, dancers, a band, an accordion, and the best night of your life!
2. Do you feel pressured to be funny at family gatherings?
It’s just a burden of everyday life that I have had to get used to. Thankfully, I always invoice for every performance so I usually make a mint on Christmas Day.
3. Is this your first Adelaide Fringe? What is your least favourite thing about the festival?
Darling, I am the diamond in the Fringe crown. I think my least favourite thing has to be the street preachers, but if they want to come along to my show, by all means! Tix are only $33.
4. What was the most challenging aspect about preparing your show?
Keeping my dancing girls, The Lucky Bitches, from scratching each other’s eyes out, and reminding them that they’re only the back-up dancers – I’m the Beyonce, they’re the Kelly.
5. If you could be any character in any movie, who and what would it be?
Probably Linda Lovelace in Lovelace.
6. Who’s your biggest comedic idol?
Me.
7. Is heckling allowed?
I dare you… bitch.
8. What’s your favourite Internet-related guilty indulgence?
Have you heard of Grindr?
9. What is the biggest accolade you’ve received from one of your shows?
Naomi Campbell being jealous of my legs… seriously.
10. What other Fringe show are you most excited to catch up with?
Hmm… Well obviously after my show, most things are going to be a bit of a let down, but I would suggest supporting the wonderful local artists out there. Adelaide has produced some amazing talent… obviously I have inspired darlings.
Hans is performing just two shows this Fringe: the 3rd and 10th of March. Get in before they sell out!
