10 Quick Qs – Four Screws Loose
Richard, Conan, Thom and Joseph are Four Screws Loose, and they’re coming to Adelaide Fringe. We ask them the pressing questions.
1. Describe your show Twitter-style, 140 character or less!
#funny
2. Do you feel pressured to be funny at family gatherings?
Fortunately not, although there is always the pressure to tell Great Aunty Margaret everything that’s going on. She’s under the impression that unless you’re a regular in Neighbours you’re nothing!
3. Is this your first Adelaide Fringe? If so, what are you most looking forward to? If not, what is your least favourite thing about the festival?
Being in the famous Aussie sunshine while all our friends and families are left shivering back in good ol’ Blighty.
4. What was the most challenging aspect about preparing your show?
Getting all four of us together long enough to have a decent rehearsal. Skype conference anyone?!
5. If you could be any character in any movie, who and what would it be?
We know who Thom would be… Chewbacca. Hugely famous, loved the world over, still making money from conventions, and he didn’t have to learn a single line!
6. Who’s your biggest comedic idol?
We’ve been hugely inspired by Monty Python. A group of really talented chaps who make each other laugh and have the pleasure of being paid to do so.
7. Is heckling allowed?
Well, we’re not going to gag you on your way into the show, so if you have to shout out we’d love it if you were nice and shouted things like, “I love you”, or, “Gee, they should be on TV. Here’s some money…”.
8. What’s your favourite Internet-related guilty indulgence?
Cats. So much so that we do a sketch about it!
9. What is the biggest accolade you’ve received from one of your shows?
We’ve been touted as a “Sexy Monty Python” before. That was pretty awesome.
10. What other Fringe show are you most excited to catch up with?
We shared a venue with Lords of Strut at the Edinburgh festival last year so it’d be great to catch up with those guys!
Four Screws Loose debuts on February 14th.
