Review – Dan Sultan
After spending some time in Nashville recording his third album, and fresh from a stint being the support act for “The Boss”, Dan Sultan is now touring the country to share his new songs with his fans and, of course, spruik his latest album.
It was standing room only at the Spiegeltent, with a few hundred people filling the venue almost to capacity. And from the moment Dan and band took the stage he had the crowd’s attention. Dan started the night off with his powerful new single “Under Your Skin”, where he showed off his strong vocals before continuing on with other highlights. Two that really stuck with me were a soft ballad reminiscent of his country roots, called “She’s Not Thinking of You”, and a new song he introduced us to protesting the constant questions he faces about his Irish-Aboriginal heritage. In true Fringe fashion he didn’t only sing his heart out on stage – to wild applause from the audience – but he also kept the audience entertained with his stories and on-stage antics.
Don’t miss out on an opportunity to see Dan Sultan. His Fringe visit was a one-night-only experience, but his tour will continue for the next few weeks and this is an experience to remember.
