Disney Guy is endearing. He’s earnest and funny and if you grew up in the early 90s, this show will be full of delightful nostalgia for you, from Dinky Diaries through to Billy Ray Cyrus.
Mark Trenwith has always had an obsession with Disney, it infiltrated all areas of his life, and is littered throughout the many childhood photos and various paraphernalia he happily shares in his show. It hasn’t always been easy, he’s struggled with the passion, Disney ain’t cool to any fifteen year old boy. This idea of him being a nerdy kid is believable, he’s still that little bit awkward, which makes for an all the more endearing performance. Trenwith has a good pace and plenty of energy, and the show is full of wholesome fun, a good one to take your parents to.
If you always felt out of place growing up, or had a weird fascination with something kitsch, it’s worth a look. Mark Trenwith keeps you entertained, and although he may appear fairly superficial in his Disney dealings, he isn’t afraid to tackle the big questions, such as:
“How the fuck do you colour in a Dalmation?”
