10 Quick Qs – Katie Noonan
1. What, where, when and how much?
Spiegeltent at the Garden of Unearthly Delights, Saturday March 14 7pm $45
2. Describe your show Twitter style, 140 characters or less:
Katie Noonan’s Vanguard – we will be exploring new material from my upcoming album as well as some tunes from The Captains and my solo stuff. I aim to create a beautiful musical world that you can escape into and lose yourself in a nice way.
3. A quote/moment that stands out from your show?
OH god I am bad at these things – but my intention is to make beautiful, cinematic music that will transport you to the ether-world for a while.
4. Is heckling allowed?
Yes of course… I like to keep the distance/barrier between audience and stage as non existent as possible… we are all sharing in the one creative experience after all – just in different and equally important ways!
5. What is your role in the show?
Producer, singer, pianist, arranger, tour mummy etc 😉
6. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I wanted to be a Nun early on. Then Jem from Jem and the Holograms. Then an investigative journalist. Then a music therapist. Now I am a weird hybrid of these things (well maybe not the nun bit…)
7. If you could put on (or be in) any show/band in the world, which one would it be?
Sorry I love my bands too much to answer this one! I am completely fulfilled creatively 😉
8. Why would someone not come see your show?
To escape a while, to be caught up in something bigger than ourselves and hopefully to pick up!!! I often do a sing a long bit and the singing often helps people pick up!
9. In your opinion, what is the worst show/movie you’ve ever seen and why?
I hate reality tv and what it is doing to my industry. Does that kind of answer it?
10. Besides your show, what’s your pick for the Fringe/Garden?
Puddles Pity Party looks all sorts of rad. I would just head out and follow your nose though – so many great options to choose from!
