Review – Aaron Nobes Theories

Aaron Nobes knows a thing or two. He knows Facebook’s “Like” button is the only bit of glue holding society together. He knows which brand of tinfoil offers the best protection against government mind-control. He knows that if you’re going to write a sternly worded letter admonishing the Chinese government, you should always sign it “Dave Callan”. If you want an entertaining hour of anti-CIA paranoia, outrageous speculation and acrobatic leaps of logic, then he gives you exactly what you’re after.

Nobes is an earnest comic, not afraid to try out adventurous material that sometimes falls flat. That is to say, he’s obviously still refining his act. Check him out if you don’t mind having to work to find some of the laughs, and if you’re interested in getting to know a local talent. If nothing else his venue, The Runt in Gluttony, is a unique and intimate place which offers the best air-conditioning you’ll find at the Fringe.
