Review – Tears, Beers & Beautiful Girls: A Musical Survival Guide

At first glance it might seem that this pair would have no need for a survival guide to love, however there is a sincerity in their emotions throughout the performance which is really refreshing. This funny duo has created a guide with tips based on their own experiences in love and loss, and for one hour and twenty minutes you have the unique pleasure of hearing their relationship advice.
Vince and Max of The Beautiful Strangers have a real connection and perfect comic timing in their portrayal of two men on a life journey, basically being themselves. They use pop song covers to argue their points, and show off some beautiful instrumental skills. As it was opening night there were a few small technical glitches, but they both kept their composure and recovered well.
Cheeky, talented and packed full of good vocals, there were a few minor pitch issues in harmonies but nothing that took away from the overall enjoyment of the show. This is one for the girls as much as the guys. With two shows left, get yourself some tickets and head on down to Harry’s Bar for an enjoyable evening.
