10 Quick Qs – The Boy with Tape on his Face
The boy with tape on his face is returning to Adelaide Fringe, and he’s bringing more adhesives. We ask him the sticky questions.
1. Describe your show Twitter-style, 140 character or less!
Stand-up comedy without talking.
2. Do you feel pressured to be funny at family gatherings?
No, my family let me take the tape off and I enjoy being a normal person when I see them.
3. Is this your first Adelaide Fringe? If so, what are you most looking forward to? If not, what is your least favourite thing about the festival?
I have been at the Fringe before and I can’t say I am looking forward to ‘that car thing’.
4. What was the most challenging aspect about preparing your show?
Telling my body not to sweat as I tape my mouth shut for an hour in a venue as hot as an oven.
5. If you could be any character in any movie, who and what would it be?
Joey Delaware. He was a walk on part in The Godfather. He walks well.
6. Who’s your biggest comedic idol?
I once carved a 7 foot statue of comedian Mickey D to guard my BBQ so I think to date that would be my biggest.
7. Is heckling allowed?
No. Never. You are ruining the show and you are a twat.
8. What’s your favourite Internet-related guilty indulgence?
The website called eatingandcrying.com. That and Subservient Chicken.
9. What is the biggest accolade you’ve received from one of your shows?
I won the Foster’s Comedy Award Panel Prize at the Edinburgh Fringe and that was pretty good.
10. What other Fringe show are you most excited to catch up with?
Very keen to hear the wonderful voice of Lili La Scala debuting Siren and being wowed with the showmanship of Mat Ricardo in Showman.
The Boy with Tape on his Face: More Tape opens February 14th.
