10 Quick Qs – EDGE!
We got in touch with Stella – the eleven-year-old YouTube sensation, for those living under a rock – and asked her the tough questions.
1. Describe your show, Twitter style! 140 characters or less.
I’m AM edge(y) cos I’ve got ‘wow’, ‘it’ AND ‘X’ factors. Watch out #Woolworths, ur about to go out of business cos I’m SO FRESH! <3 <3 <3 <3
2. Who is your biggest YouTube idol?
Me. Obviously. From my viral YouTube sensation from 2010 (when I was only 8), Marshmallows and Clouds. 10 million views. It’s about marshmallows. Oh. And clouds. 10 million views. Viral. 10 MILLION.
3. What was the most difficult aspect about planning your show?
My incompetent technical assistant Ashley who is SO old. She’s like 35 or something. You think she’d be smart because she’s so old and ugly but she just kept mucking everything up. Other than that, I’m perfect and my arena spectacular show EDGE! is better than Beyonce’s little thing she did at the Superbowl half time or whatever.
4. What do you least like about Tavi Gevinson?
Who’s that? Doesn’t matter. She doesn’t sound like she’s got star potential like me. Her name is clearly fake. It’s not as good as my name, STELLA, which means STAR in a language.
5. If you could be any character in any movie, who and what would it be?
I would play myself in the Stella movie that would be all about me and my journey to even more fame than I already have.
6. Where do you picture yourself in five years?
Well I’ll be 16 so I will probably being marketed by my manager and I as single and looking for a really cute boy band boyfriend. I will also have caused a lot of controversy and the whole world will be tweeting about me all the time. #stella #sexy #stellathestar #stellaisedgy #stellastellaSTELLA
7. Describe to us your ideal breakfast.
My ideal breakfast is a really popular cereal that has my face on the box because I am exceptionally famous. In general, I only eat vitamins/diet pills for breakfast so as not to interfere with my extremely strict training routine.
8. What is your favourite guilty, internet-related indulgence?
The only thing that is worthwhile doing on the internet is googling myself.
9. What is the biggest accolade you’ve received for your work?
Well obviously all of them including an Oscar and a Grammy and an Emmy and a BAFTA and just all of the other ones including Best Comedy at Melbourne Fringe in 2013.
10. What other show are you most excited to catch up with this Fringe?
Well obviously everyone will be more excited to catch up with ME than I will with them but I suppose it will be fun hanging out with other really cool people at my amazing venue The Tuxedo Cat. But PLEASE – no paparazzi!
