Review – El Jaguar: The Rise of El Jaguar
Before I start this review, I have to say one thing. Before I went into the room for his show, I had no idea what to expect. El Jaguar history as a former WWF wrestler threw me and I didn’t expect what came out of his mouth. And what did come out of his mouth was comedy.
El Jaguar knows exactly what to say to make people laugh. The show was located within one of Melbourne Trade Hall’s cozier rooms, but the small space was a good fit for his style of comedy. Using awkward silences and inappropriateness, El Jaguar drew laughter from everybody in the room.
The show centres on El Jaguar trying to replicate the life he had as a WWF wrestler, using random audience members to create that effect. This reviewer was singled out at one point, but luckily avoided going up on stage. Not that the people who did go up on stage were unlucky, the whole show became about them. If you like being in the show, definitely sit in the front row for El Jaguar!
So if you want to be surprised by a show, definitely check out El Jaguar before the show ends! He is definitely worth seeing. As he points out, ‘No matter how obvious something is, say it anyway because people will laugh at it, whether it be stupid or not’.
The Rise of El Jaguar is playing every night except Mondays until the 20th of April
