East of Eden
THE GARDEN COMES TO TOWN
So it’s that time of year again, when weekends and weeknights blur into one and the city of Adelaide comes alive – it’s Fringe time.
And what better way to get into the spirit than wandering down to the Garden of Unearthly Delights. Now in it’s 10th year, the Garden of Unearthly Delights (or the GoUD as we call it) brings Adelaide’s East End alive with an ecletic range of tents and theatres, food stalls, markets and fairy lights. You would be forgiven for thinking the circus was in town. But it practically is. With an array of theatre, comedy and puppetry shows on offer, your newfound arty-farty self won’t know what to choose. But choose something anyway and support the arts. Who knows, you may even enjoy it.
For before or afters, you can’t go past the extensive selection of food and drinks on offer, with many of Adelaide’s best eateries braving the festival conditions so you don’t go hungry. There’s also plenty of market stalls selling everything from string puppets to your legal fix for the night. And heel balm for when your sore feet hate you the next morning. The GoUD is open until the 18th March, so get your best dress on and head on down. You can follow the GoUD on Twitter, like it on Facebook or visit it’s website like the good ol’ days.

Heckler recommends:
Coffee Branch for your Fair Trade caffeine fix.
Dutch Poffertjes with rum butter for dessert.
Running around the Garden twice to burn it all off.

Pro tip:
Leave your alcohol at the gate.
Trying to finish the goon sack that you were hiding in your bag is not a good look.
Stay classy, Adelaide.
