Headliners
BILLED as a showcase of America’s hottest comedy, this show met all expectations. The four American comedians who took to the stage for 20 minutes at Hifi bar did not disappoint.
Andy Kindler kicked off the night striding across the stage, dabbling into religion and professing that he had ADHD. Kumail Nanjiani took the audience on a journey from the bewilderment of Melbourne’s pie face shops to monkeys performing at birthday parties in Pakistan. Kyle Kinane commanded the stage with his confidence and casual manner, admitting that when you are a little down an unsliced pizza feels like a mocking assumption that you have no one to eat it with. Intelligent and witty, Keith Richardson is a pleasure to listen to. While he touched on American politics at the end; it would have been great to hear more of his insights.
Headliners is definitely value for money. Great venue, great comedians, it’s leaning over clutching your stomach funny.
