Peter Helliar – Snazzy

PETER Helliar has made himself a household name in recent years with his comedic antics on shows such as Before The Game and Rove.

His comedy is fun and silly and makes his TV audiences chuckle. Unfortunately, when working with a live audience there are no opportunities to edit out the slow parts and only show the highlights, and this is where I was left feeling a bit disappointed with Helliar’s hour-long show. Don’t get me wrong, laughs were to be had all through the show, but Helliar doesn’t appear to possess the skills nor the finesse to keep the momentum flowing and often lets himself down by leaving a story lingering too long and attempting to milk it for every last laugh. It often seemed that only when the audience had stopped laughing in entirety that he got the message to move on.

Overall an hour of mild entertainment which will leave you feeling slightly chirpier than when you walked in… maybe.
