Review – 3 Acquaintances

Mixed feelings about this lacklustre improvised comedy; there were so many standard improvisation rules broken that the cast more or less shot themselves and each other in the feet.
Starting off reasonably well seeking suggestions from the audience for ‘three key factors’ (that would become features in the show) it was a big fail to accept all three factors from just one audience member!
Despite a full house and other suggestions being called out, the MC could only hear that one punter (sounds like a set-up). The way these ‘key factors’ were ‘featured’ in the story ended up being superfluous making the ‘audience participation’ basically insignificant.
This cast would be wise to remember, when you are making something up as you are going along remember what you have set up along the way. These four guys would do well to get out and have a look at some of the other improvised shows around the Fringe just to spot check where they could improve. There’s plenty of room for improvement.
They’re obviously talented on some level but they really need to lift their game. It’s a Fringe Festival, not a Cringe Festival.
