WOMAD – Golonka

Adelaide-based Golonka are no ordinary gypsy folk band (if there is such a thing), mixing up traditional pieces with the more unorthodox (gypsy-ska-reggae anyone?).

A little short on energy at Womad though – it did feel like a bunch of laconic Aussies having a crack at gypsy folk, rather than the real deal.

A little more oomph and it would have been a blast.
