2. Describe your show Twitter style, 140 characters or less:
Interactive musical puppet show. Funny monkeys for kids, great drumming for adults, variety segments for all, and a message for the world.
3. A quote/moment that stands out from your show?
Come and see the worlds only high diving Frog!!
4. Is heckling allowed?
We have a security Monkey for such occasions.
5. What is your role in the show?
I’m one of the Monkeys – Bongo. I drum, sing, dance and do all of the things that those 2 humans ask of me. We get bananas in return 🙂 MMMMM Bananas!
6. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I’d like more to do with those bananas in pyjamas – not sure why they won’t return our calls? 🙂
7. If you could put on (or be in) any show/band in the world, which one would it be?
Playing percussion with Dr Teeth and Electric Mayhem (the Muppets Band). Animal is our hero.
8. Why would someone not come see your show?
Over the last 11 years, we have had some people – not many – just a certain type of person complain or even walk out saying “they’re not real monkeys!!” … If you are that type of person, who would rather see animals enslaved for human entertainment, than an amazing musical puppet show, then maybe you should consider another show 🙂
9. In your opinion, what is the worst show/movie you’ve ever seen and why?
In all seriousness I’d like to nominate an entire genre, which is the hollywood apocalyptic movies (Blade Runner, Terminator, Running Man, The Day After Tomorrow, Wall E and many more recently). Millions of seriously dumb humans are now believing that this is the inevitable fate of this planet. They don’t have another picture of the future world to reference to. Think about it – there has never been a positive depiction of the earth’s future in film or TV – Never. Life imitates art, thoughts create reality, and mass stupidity reigns supreme in the human race – I think a lot of it has to do with these movies. I know this isn’t funny – but it’s just not funny.
10. Besides your show, what’s your pick for the Fringe/Garden?
A musical performance by Loren Kate (check the Fringe guide). She won the Telstra road to discovery this year, and performed at WOMAD last year. We love her and her beautiful music.
