2. Describe your show Twitter style, 140 characters or less.
A stark, stylised theatrical encounter with the emotional and social realities of knife crime – delivered via bruisingly poetic monologues.
3. A quote/moment that stands out from your show?
The surgeon’s use of elastic bands to represent the scarring on Wee Andy’s face.
4. Is heckling allowed?
Er… you’ve seen Kenzie in the plays, right?
I have and I wouldn’t dare piss that kid off – Ed
5. What is your role in the show?
Writer, director, sound design. I also regularly sweep the stage, do the cast laundry and lock up after the show…
6. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Why would I want to grow up?
7. If you could put on (or be in) any show/band in the world, which one would it be?
I would put on (and play bass in) The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
8. Biggest accolade/compliment you’ve received about your show?
We worked with a group of young men, in a Scottish prison, who were playing the gang in Fleeto. All of them had been convicted of crimes of violence, and several were serving life terms, but they loved doing the show for the other inmates. At the end of the performance one of them said of the play “I wish I was the f****** c*** who wrote that”.
9. Why would someone not come to see your show?
Because coincided with an alien invasion of Earth.
10. Besides your show, what’s your pick for the Fringe?
I’m really looking forward to Terrible Infants.
