I wasn’t sure what to expect from East End Cabaret – was it meant to be set in East Germany, some kind of black comedy play within a play that would end up annoying me and making me feel dumb?
Is heckling allowed?
Heckling is allowed, but no killers are allowed in the audience. Have to be very clear on that. I don’t like killers.
Anya Anastasia, of cabaret group Bird Wizdom, makes her solo debut in this delightful piece of cabaret that showcases the artist’s stellar talent in both singing and song-writing.
The singing is just amazing. The humour is fantastic – each of the four actors brings something different to the table – they are all incredibly talented and work perfectly together. You’ll probably fall in love with these curious creatures, the Lovebirds, as they take you on their journey of love and well, sex.
I wanna get in Freddie Mercury’s pants. Like now.
If you like your cabaret sophisticated, conservative and beautiful – then this is not the show for you.
On the other hand, if you like your cabaret dirty, crass, sexual and ridiculously funny, then this is definitely the show for you.
