Review – Best of Fringe Variety
Every night this show serves up a different selection of unusual acts. Can’t be certain you’ll see any of these folk if you go, but you will certainly miss them all if you don’t buy a ticket.

Grab your rubber ducky, stuff your pants and get hyped up on sugar to see (probably) more than you probably bargained for!
The LEFT ensemble is bursting with energy and passion and the show is jammed packed with amazing routines, yet an edit of the weaker moments could see this show seriously fly.
What’s most impressive about the show is Callan’s stamina. The man can actually pole dance. Legit. This is physical comedy, dancing steadily for over an hour, interspersed with shtick on the history of various choreography.

Fringe veterans Sound & Fury know what they are doing and clearly love doing it.
Tim Motley is spellbindingly funny and a compellingly excellent storyteller.
I reserve the highest props for comedy which looks to be personal, daring, sophisticated and original all at once. Of the few shows at this Fringe that tick all those boxes, Red Bastard has to be one of the most obnoxious and crass entries in the category.
Add to this a Freddie Krueger rap from a Nightmare on Elm Street, featuring dubious sexual references “not in the backdoor” and you have a vastly inappropriate and often hilarious show. The show is not perfect, but the delivery is and Christine and Phelan excel.
This show is just pure simple fun. Each component is delivered with a shot of comedy that keeps you giggling between gasps.
Tea With Terrorists is one of the more unique comedy shows going around this year, and with a little editing would be one of the best offerings around as well.
The high energy pair – in their Hawaiian shirts, hipster leopard shorts and skinny jeans – begin on a high and don’t ever come down in a show that is a “little music, a little comedy, a little hip-hop”.
